Your Love Never Fails
“I was Superwoman. I am no longer Superwoman.”
Brenda has cared for her mother, Carolyn, for 25+ years, first in her home, and for one year, while she was in an Assisted Living Facility. Uniquely told from the point of view of both the adult child caregiver and the aging parent, the film takes an honest look at how providing care for an aging parent affects the caregiver, and how being dependent on an adult child can affect the aging parent. Filmed over a span of two-and-a-half years, the film follows daughter, Brenda, as she adjusts to the escalating care needs of her ailing mother, Carollyn, and faces the impact it makes on her own family, health, and life style.
This family’s candid story sheds realistic light (and hope) on the caregiving dynamic that will speak to the current wave of baby boomers and adult children who are or will unexpectedly become caregivers. It is also a valuable resource for professionals who work with families.
