Mrs. Dorothy Peterson: A Case Study
This stunning new video dramatically conveys the need for integrated health care delivery within the hospital and among allied health care providers. Over the course of a two month illness, Dorothy Peterson spent 38 days in the hospital. She was admitted, transferred, readmitted, transferred and readmitted in and out of various health care sites. She encountered caring and skilled staff, but she also encountered a health system where duplication of efforts and fragmentation of services frustrate patients and staff alike. During the course of her relatively short illness, eight separate assessments and six care plans were written.
