This DVD uses brief vignettes to present three different family situations in which adult children must deal with growing concerns about the driving capability of an aging parent. Each story documents the result of an intervention by a healthcare professional and includes potential solutions, such as, preventing the parent from driving, changing the parent’s medication, or addressing a medical condition that hindered driving safety. With well-placed break points, each vignette becomes a valuable tool to 1) initiate discussion on older adults and driving safety, and 2) show the long-reaching impact of these decisions on both the older adult and their family members.
