The Lawton Instrumental Activities of Daily Living Scale

Used to assess independent living skills that are considered more complex than the six basic Activities of Daily Living, the Lawton Instrumental Activities of Daily Living Scale (IADL) gives care providers a reliable tool to objectively evaluate an older adult’s ability to live and function independently and safely. The IADL measures skils in the following areas:

laundry

medication management
financial management
